Despite the rain,
and regardless of the wind,
Paris, city of lights,
seems the perfect place
to begin the journey forward,
promising kaleidoscope days
and enchanting nights;
a mist of French flair in the air.
Echoes of, 'Je ne sais quoi',
amid the awestruck,
eager to merge with the flow,
pick up the Parisian pace and
blend with the trend.
Bewitching and bold,
it seizes your being,
and captures your soul,
until you find your way
to its magic,
and never let it go.
Wishing you all a bright
and beautiful New Year!

Poppy,
ReplyDeleteYou wrote that?! Of course you did. Truth be known, I'm not surprised...but still! I absolutely loved it! You're a true romantic and a playful soul, as if that weren't obvious from your decorating style and other posts...but still! You transported me back to Paris where I was truly "awestruck" and full of Paris envy (in only the best way). Thank you for conjuring that experience up for me again, and even adding to it, Poppy.
Fay
Beautiful post!! I have never been to Paris I hope one day, if God gives me an opportunity I will visit the romance city of the world!! I hope you are off to a great start in this New Year!
ReplyDeleteOoPs I meant romantic...

Hi Poppy, I've had a grand time jumping around to read your blog. Your blog brought back lots of memories of my first (and only so far) trip to Paris. Fortunately, my husband and I arrived early for his business part of the trip and were able to take a Greyline tour. The next day, I hopped on the Metro and questioned my sanity about going on a subway by myself. No problems at all. The great memories make me want to return and see more. What is it with red? In the past 3 months, I've added more of it to my home and already had a good bit of it in clothing. Love your Paris poem!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year,
Helen
Lovely! Happy New Year to you too! :)

Happy new year, to you too! My nephew and his wife were in Paris for Christmas and New Years, and I loved seeing the pictures they took.
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy, I have given up on my dream to see Paris . . . if you visit please take photos. I loved what you wrote, it is very touching.
ReplyDeleteAre you home from your trip to Canada? Back to the sunny skies of Spain :)
We have snow and weather in the 20's so working on my journal at night has been nice. I just sit in the family room with Steve and we have a fire in the fireplace . . . and watch a little TV . . . nice and cozy and warm.
Here's wishing you a bright and beautiful new year.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
