CAMERA CHRONICLES

For those who have been following
my camera chronicles...
Our very dainty and delicate honeysuckle
'ReEnergized' the batteries
Gardenias, wedding white puffs of softness
and cautiously crept toward the garden
Cute as a button, multi-coloured lantana

in the hope of capturing
Petite and pretty jasmine
a few still images
Charmingly simple Chinese carnations
of some blooming beauties
Precious tiny petals of the Virgin Mary's Teardrop, (Greek name)
in case my camera, once again, went kaput

which, of course, it did.
Thus compelling me to get creative
Playing around with 'Poster Effect' in iPiccy
in iPiccy,
 and in the process...
refreshingly recharged, batteries of my own!

Thanks for visiting,
Poppy

  1. Gorrrrrgeous photos, Poppy!! I love taking photos of my garden, too. BTW, are you on Instagram? I think you would enjoy the various photo filters on Instagram. And there are lots of garden photos. It is very hot in DC this week....mid 90s. Gotta go out and water my babies :)

    1. Actually, Patty, as I wrote in the post, it's acting up again; won't turn on at all! Yes, there is a lot to research before making such an expensive purchase. It's always good to get feedback from other bloggers, whose pictures you admire. Good luck!

  11. Lovely photos! : ) Just starting my lantana here. I really like them as once they get going they are a nice mid to late summer flower, doing well in drought and heat.

    1. Thanks, Debra! What colours have you planted? I decided to go with the red/orange/yellow combo to complement the terracotta tiles around the patio. I must say, though, that the yellow and white variety I have is doing much better. Any ideas?

    2. I just got small pots this year. One is white, and the others are some sort of multi-colored bloom. They were small, and about one day after I planted we had four days of cold weather. Two nights I had to cover them to protect from a freeze. Then we went right up to four days of high temps ( as in around 90 degrees ) and the poor things don't know which way is up by now. So they've not really even started to bloom aside from that white one have one or two blossoms.

    1. I love lantana; it flourishes so effortlessly, and requires little maintenance. The red variety in the photo though, isn't doing as well as my yellow and white! It could be its particular spot, I guess.

    1. Eileen, don't hesitate! Not sure when jasmine is supposed to be planted, but it grows very quickly. I'm starting to weave mine in between the patio's marble columns, just as I had dreamt of doing when I designed the house! And that scent...well, you know!

  27. My dearest Poppy,
For a temperamental camera, it sure takes stunning pictures - but then it's thanks to the owner and her creative eye. The flowers are so vivid in colour they're almost popping out of the screen ... I can almost smell them! The only advantage of not having them to see in real life now is that I can avoid sneezing due to my darn hay fever. But by the time I arrive in Crete in July I should be over the allergy and ready to feast my eyes on your exquisite garden. I agree totally with Elefteria. The play of light and texture are brought out magnificently, so much that the flowers seem 3 dimensional.
It has inspired me to do something about my pitiful garden. I'll see what the local nursery has to offer.
    Lovely post as always.
