Here in Greece, primary colours
built on rocky cliffs,
brick by brick.
Houses, churches, hotels and cafes
provide a primary pigment of perspective.
While studying psychology in university,
I remember a theory which proposed that
later on in life, dictate our choices in partners.
Do views of hues
that made an impression on us as children
that made an impression on us as children
reign in our place of residence today?
According to my empirical knowledge,
and collection of data,
I think it's safe to conclude
they do!

I have always been drawn to bright colors, too. Red being my favorite color - and I do like pastels if they are true colors. I do know I loved my dear husband's pink cheeks when I first met him! LOL! I always look forward to your lively and cheery posts!
ReplyDeleteI believe your date must be empirically correct! Your pictures are like beautiful paintings, each one of them. You must feel as if you're living in a beautiful painting there. I have always yearned to visit Greece but at least your Poppy View lets me have this lovely look into your Greece. I can imagine walking those streets and climbing the hill to Poppy View. I have to see that sweet kitchen first!
ReplyDeleteOh Poppy, I long to see it with my own eyes one day!! So glorious! All of that fabulous, rich color!!!!s

Your posts are always so much fun...! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Poppy, I LOVE all your color. You don't ever want to invite me over because those red checkered dishes would be in my suitcase and back in California before you noticed.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous place to live!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is an inspiration to use those primary colors, for sure.
It's so bright and cheerful.
Amazing photos!!!You made colored my day! Thanks!

Hi Poppy, your every post draws me closer and closer to your little piece of paradise. Seem so close yet so far away. But God willing, one day I won't be just staring at the photos but hopefully will be sitting on one of those vividly painted terraces.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing
Blessings,
Aida
Fabulous post!
ReplyDeleteThis was an absolute feast for my eyes! My favorite is the beautiful macaw painting. How lovely! Thank you for your gorgeous post!
ReplyDeleteTόσο όμορφες εικόνες......
ReplyDeleteΗ κουζίνα σου είναι υπέροχη,
φιλιά σε εσένα και την Κρήτη
Gorgeous...your entire post is gorgeous! Love your photos. The kitchen is inspiring. I vow someday I will visit Greece. Love your Macaw also.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from A Favorite Thing.
Greetings from Sweden, my friend!
ReplyDeleteInteresting you should write about sunflower yellow and barn red homes. Many homes, from quaint to grand, in Sweden have exteriors that are painted either yellow or red. Truly colorful especially against the azure blue summer sky! But many interiors, however, have a more neutral palette of chalk whites and Gustavian grays. Quite a contrast, right?
Have a wonderful weekend, Poppy :)

PS - I love your sunny kitchen and colorful pottery collection. Reminds me of the pieces I bring back from Provence.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous post as always! I love primary colors too.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought the light in Greece to be just amazing. It seems so pure and bright.
Your pictures of Greece are so pretty! They are so fun. I just posted the beginning of our Greece trip up on the blog. I really loved all of the white houses in Greece.
ReplyDeleteThe vivid colors are just amazing! Is the sky really that blue, or is that photo edited? Also, can you tell me anything about that awesome parrot painting...is it a painting you have in your home or on a building or ??? I am totally smitten and awed by it.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to visit Greece - your photos make me want to even more. Simply gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the color in your home, Poppy, and the incredible colors used in your country. My goodness, what gorgeousness!

UI must say I have never thought about it before. But I know I don't do soft and dreamy in my photography very well - as my photo stream shows - so perhaps your theory is correct.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I love the primary colours of your world - and your kitchen! oh my, I so love that light coming through on both sides. How I would love that light in my kitchen!
Have a wonderful week. I am linking up to you through Mosaic Monday.
