Grapes

Hi Poppy, your posts are always so creative and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Hi Poppy, it's all so colorful and pretty! I can't wait to see what fall looks like in your country. Summer is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePoppy, on a dark day like today here in the US, these images just soothe a troubled spirit. thank you for sharing your lovely images.
ReplyDeleteMaria Angelique
I love your photos. Everything in your house is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAll the beautiful colors in your gardens. Everything looks so bright and clear there. Thanks for sharing your
ReplyDeletelovely pictures. Can hardly wait to see what Fall looks like.

Poppy, what bright and cheerful pictures! Summer is definitely fading away.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Beautiful Poppy:) I love the way the change of season parallels life. We are all fortunate to see it!
ReplyDeletePoppy, I am trying to savor these days as there is summer beauty left. Our flowers look faded and weary but roses seem to be having a good second bloom and herbs are growing faster than I can use them. The ferns on the front porch are touching the floor, they have grown so much. I try not to let them feel that they're going to be history soon. I learned one year not to try to overwinter them inside as they shed too badly.
ReplyDeleteI can't help getting excited about that countdown--5 days left! I, too, as other commenters said, look forward to seeing what changes happen in your area there as the year marches on.
Only five days until the start of my very favourite season of all. I'll miss the colour and the blue skies of summer, but autumn has its own pleasures. Do you ever miss an Ontario fall, with its blaze of red and gold? I do, sometimes, as we don't have the deciduous trees here on the coast to give us that gorgeous colour. On the other hand, the golds and greens of fall on the coast are beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful geraniums - they are exceptional. I like fall but I will miss flip flop weather. Before long, it will take forever to put everyone's shoes and socks on, and coats and hats and gloves. It just takes a moment to put on sandals, and out the door we go. It is easy living.

ReplyDeleteA bit nostalgic but so delightful post Poppy! The place you live is blessed!
ReplyDeleteWish you a wonderful day!
To Poppy,
ReplyDeleteNo man can describe it as well as him:
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see'st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereon it must expire,
Consumed with that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.
Sonnet 73. Shakespeare.
Πανέμορφες οι φωτογραφίες σου και το ταξίδι σου στις τελευταίες μέρες του καλοκαιριού υπέροχο! Φιλιά!!
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy, I will miss summer and I loved all your photos, thanks for sharing them! I love your deck and pool area and you have such a beautiful house. I can't wait each week to see what you are going to show us and doing. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Lovely photos...summmer will still linger off and on through early fall I hope :)
ReplyDeletePoppy, Hello from dark, gray Seattle where it seems autumn has definitely arrived. Thanks you for brightening (as always) the start to my day!
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning photos and a very special place to live. I shall come by for some cheering up as the English autumn turns into winter. Now, we are already in autumn here and I must go and feed the animals and light the stove!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are always stunning and get me feeling creative and cheery. I wish you the best as you transition into the autumn season. A truly lovely home!
ReplyDeletePoppy,
ReplyDeletethis is very poetic....I always like the change of seasons..especially when summer goes and fall arrives...
Love, Mona
It's been said a million times, but summer does go bye so quickly....sigh...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden, beautiful pictures my friend. Diane
I so like to visit your blog..It's charming!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a bittersweet time of the year...I feel like I did not experience summer at all this year...working many hours and a very late start of spring here in NY. Until next year!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. It's what I imagine paradise to be. I love the cooler weather, here in Southern California, USA, we have something blooming year around. It's something to see roses still blooming in December. It's not for everyone, I know, but it's fun to think we are all sharing the same sun and moon.

I'm always sad to see summer go. I've been in denial, but there was no denying its impending arrival today, with morning temps in the low 50's. Your pretty pictures were a fitting tribute to summer's end. The colors are gorgeous! I'm curious to see what Fall looks like in Crete! Oh, and I love that pool, and the red lantern, too.
ReplyDeleteOh my, everything is just beautiful. I wouldn't want to let go of summer either if mine looked like that. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Poppy, It is lovely to see the beautiful blue sky and the lovely flowers that are still blooming in Crete. I love the geraniums, such a lovely colour. Here in England, it is a cold and rainy day, so it is always lovely to visit you and enjoy your wonderful part of the world.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes
Daphne

ReplyDeleteNo say it isn't' so!!! I love summer evenings the days are too hot! but looking forward to see what fall has in store for us..
ReplyDeleteSummer is definitely waning, but I think I'll revel in your lovely pictures and soothe my soul until the utter end.
ReplyDeleteI'm always sad to see Summer come to an end. Your pictures are just beautiful. I especially love the one of the geraniums and the china. Your blog is always a treat to visit, Poppy. One is sure to find beauty in images and poetry. Thank you for sharing at my HOME and have a wonderful weekend.

Hello Poppy, it is sad to see summer come to an end! Your flowers are still looking beautiful though! Lovely images! Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy, Yes summer and all its' lovely flowers have left. But the second colours are about to emerge, fall.
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy
ReplyDeleteLovely images of your fading Summer in Crete.
Hold on to these images as they will carry you through those dark cold days of Winter - remembering that in another 6 months or so your beautiful geraniums will be flowering happily once again!
I'm visiting from Mary's Mosaic Monday.

Hello Poppy, I am visiting from Seasonal Sunday where I saw the picture of your charming china hutch. I am amazed by your stunning fall pictures. They are so gorgeous. I am looking forward to seeing more of your posts. This one certainly is a delight to look at. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteLove your grape arbor. My grandparents had one. We used to play under it to get out of the hot sun. We would test out the grapes and let them know when they were ripe.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are absolutely stunning. It must be heaven to take walks around your area!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
DeleteThank you! So very nice of you to visit! Hope to see you again, soon!
