I am really starting to want to put it back up this year but I have no where to put it. I think this calls for some creative design work, Maybe a small village? Maybe tucked in a corner with the couch at an angle? Now you have inspired me to work on my village with your lovely pictures. Ring on silver bells, ring on.

I can sometimes feel envious of your beautiful surroundings, but it's easy to forget it comes with a sacrifice, too: that separation from family, friends and a setting that speaks of your earliest homes.

There's no snow here in our part of New Brunswick, at the moment. We might get some snow tomorrow night but it may not last for Christmas. Silver Bells is one of my very favorite Christmas Carols. I remember getting my first record player on Christmas morning and one of the albums Santa brought was Christmas songs including Silver Bells.

I don't know the song that well, so I went to check it out on You Tube, it definitely evokes a lovely Christmas feeling. People bet on having a white Christmas over here, but we rarely do !

It is always bittersweet for me, too, because there are times I can't be with my family (what is left) at Christmas. I do have my husband (and I am very grateful), but I think we often have an image in our minds of what Christmas is "supposed to be" and it is hard to supplant that with a new one, try though we might. These images are just beautiful, but in reality, I have never actually seen a Christmas that looks like these pictures. It doesn't snow much here in Alabama, and even when it does, I live in a suburban subdivision, not a city or out in the countryside. I think somehow, we have to find a new version of normal, whatever that may be.
