Aren't these tulips just so adorable?
I thought they looked perfectly at home in my
living room and wanted to share them with you.
Don't you just want to reach out and give them
a big warm hug? Just take them in your arms and
squeeze them like you would a tiny toddler's cheek?
Did you know that these pink and orange sweeties each
symbolize something? Care to take a teeny-weeny tulip test?
Mystery Tulip #1 says:
I might be given to a lonely friend,
who's having a sad day,
or to your beloved mother,
on her milestone birthday!
I have a wonderful complexion,
and represent caring and affection.
Which am I?
Mystery Tulip #2's clue:
If I show up on your doorstep,
(a gift from a secret admirer),
you can bet his flaming heart
is burning with desire!
So, you'd better treat yourself
to a bunch or two of me,
to bust your winter blahs
and boost your energy!
Which am I?
Well,
Mystery Tulip #1 is....
PINK,
which makes
Mystery Tulip #2...
ORANGE
Now, that wasn't too terrifying, was it?
Thanks for visiting!
xo

Oh Poppy your tulips are lovely and go so well with your beautiful couch and red chair. You know how I love anything RED. I am so ready for Spring even though we have had a very mild winter. If only we would get some rain. I hope this doesn't mean the summer is going to be HOTTER than you know where.
ReplyDeleteHave a great one.
Mary
Can I have a couple of each? Your room is lovely and this was fun! We should do more quizzes! lol Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteYes, Poppy, this post and your last one have given me Spring Fever! Ready to see flowers blooming back home when we get there!! (no such possibility of course, but wishful thinking).
ReplyDeleteI am wondering how long the tulips last after they are picked or purchased. I think I have only had them indoors once and that was ages ago!
ReplyDeleteTulips are such lovely spring flowers. I have such a hard time choosing which colour to purchase at the market. They are all pretty. Loved the tulip test.
ReplyDeleteThe tulips make a gorgeous bouquet in your home. A beautiful pop of colour. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI brought home three bunches of pink tulips for Valentine's Day, and yes, I just want to give them a big hug. Poppy, I love orange and pink tulips together!! Did you arrange this beautiful bouquet? Here is some tulip trivia for you. Did you know that tulips are one of the only flowers that continue to grow after they have been cut? They can grow up to an inch! I learned this after asking my local tulip farmer why my bouquet isn't quite the same as when I first arranged it. Tulips are simply fascinating!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful day!
Pieknie wiosennie u Ciebie, cudne tulipany i aranżacje, pozdrawiam:)
ReplyDeleteCool photos,Poppy!I'll wish to have like your great sofa!gorgeous design!

ReplyDeleteAhhh! I love tulips! They are my absolute favorite flower! They are even the symbol of my blog and what initially motivated to start writing. I could look at them all day long....
ReplyDeleteI admire the way you decorate your home with just hints of color here and there. The flowers are so cheerful. I did not have a clue about the mystery poems but it made me thinks of roses.
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are beautiful Poppy! They look perfect in this spot and you will enjoy them for days to come. Tulips grow like crazy here in Seattle at this time of year. I never tire of them and it's fun to change up the colors. Enjoy your day!! xxleslie
ReplyDeleteTulips are one of my favourite flowers, Poppy. I think I'm going to have to treat myself to a bouquet soon.

ReplyDeleteLike you, I love tulips, and my favorite ones are orange or some special shade of red. Yours look so beautiful!! It is THE spring flower for me and I love them as a big bunch in a vase. An instant smile!

ReplyDeleteAre your tulips blooming yet there? Did you pick these yourself?
I love the symbolism of flowers, although I haven't studied them much.
All I know I learned from "Rosemary and Thyme!"
your tulip arrangement is beautiful, and looks so nice with your couch and red chair. I love learning about the symbolism behind flowers.
ReplyDeleteTulips are one of my favs(second to peonies), but the deer love them too so I shy away from planting them outside. (Love your sofa!)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful spring arrangement and perfect in front of the sofa :)
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy, your pretty tulips remind me of Spring and how I long for green grass, warm air, and afternoons spent in the sunshine. BTW I love your red chair! Visiting you from the Home And Garden Thursday Party.

Ha ha I was pondering all the way down and then there ya go. I adore Tulips and enjoy photographing them too. One year friends presented me with 500 mystery Tulip and Lily bulbs and I planted all of them perfectly. We live in the 2 acres, filled with wildlife. No matter how hard I tried...I got very few flowers and yet images to prove, they had been ;) I have also seen a few of my mystery plants come up in other neighbors yards...little Squirrel, or Chipmunk transfers...sigh. I end up going to the market and making a Tulip bouquet purchase now. Lovely Poppy~
ReplyDeleteNot terrifying at all... :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love, love, love peeks into your home. Beautiful, beautiful... White and vibrant colors... It looks like Your Home. :-) As it should of course. :-) But everything about your blog, is vibrant. And now, I know, your home is too.
:-)
HOW I LOVE THAT ROOM !!!

I have never grown tulips, but I think I need to plant bulbs in the fall to have sea of tulips to greet people at the front door.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tulip lesson.
