Some views never lose their novelty. I walk by this breathtaking vantage point every day, and each time I stop to gaze upon its beauty,
it always seems new to me. Tree dotted slopes weave the way to a seemingly still, blue sea, that has become one with the sky above.
Covered in dewy clover, a mini mountain range maneuvers its way between rows of olive trees. Soaking their trunks in the muddy earth, the trees relax and replenish after a hardworking harvest,
indulging in a spa treatment all their own.
After a spiky shower, their damp, leafy tops
get a fluffy blowout from the warm and breezy winds,
at times braiding them, to coif shady silhouettes
against the glowing sheen of green.
A very warm welcome to my new followers,
and a sweet 'hello' to my 'older' ones!
Thanks for visiting,
and a happy week, to all!

I love the line "Some views never lose their novelty. I walk by this breathtaking vantage point every day, and each time I stop to gaze upon its beauty,
ReplyDeleteit always seems new to me. "
We walk our beach every single day and it never ceases to amaze me that it is different every single day. The sand has shifted, the waves are bigger (or smaller) the tide is ever changing.
This morning we visited with a friend on the jetty and in a 10 minute period, the fog rolled in and hid the islands from our view. And then, as quickly as it rolled in, the fog was gone and the islands were returned to us.
EXACTLY!!!

What a clever post, Poppy. I like the idea of the olive trees engaging in a spa treatment and it's a pleasure to read what is rather like a love letter for the area you inhabit. With all this beauty, it would be difficult not to appreciate it, but I imagine there are some who know longer see it, sadly enough.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
Karen
I have never seen a real olive tree only read about them in scriptures but I do love olives.

Hi Dear One and what a lovely place it would be to visit and take in the beauty that you share. I can imagine that the air is so fresh and clean to take into ones lungs. To be so near the sea and also the mountains and to observe those luscious Olives tress, heavenly, it must certainly be. To roll up that lovely green earth carpet and transport it inot my own back yard about now, would make me happy, happy. Have a lovely week Poppy~
ReplyDeleteI love visiting you Poppy, because it always feels so warm. We had about a nanosecond of sun this morning and then back to the leaden sky. Ah Vancouver, how we love thee. I'll just have to come visit you for some sunshine. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch true beauty Poppy. Your pictures are very lovely and the olive trees all in a row. Everything is so very special and I can see why the views change daily.

Poppy, you an walk the same walk every day and still find new things the harder you look. Our break of sunshine busted through and made an appearance today only long enough to warm and melt a bit of snow from the woods creating a small stream under foot. Your photos are beautiful, I've never seen olive trees, this creats a beautiful image thank you ever so much - Cindy
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have such a spectacular view..... and how blessed that you realize and appreciate it! I am trying really hard not to be envious from the dry brown winter landscape in West Texas.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful view, Poppy. I'm sure it constantly changes and each time you walk, you notice something different. I feel that way about walks along the beach here. Tonight as I type the rain is once again spattering the windows and the wind is rising. So I'll enjoy your sunny views even more.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous, Poppy! You live surrounded by such incredible beauty!
ReplyDeleteYou asked me about following. I don't have a button on my blog, but if you go into your blogger dashboard, you can add me there if you wish. I would love it! :-)

I'd say that every season is spa season!! But not for flowers and trees. What a fun metaphor. I love the views you share with us!
ReplyDeleteWhat a view Poppy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful route to walk each day. The old olive trees have worked hard up until their harvest and deserve a health spa break just like us!!! Olive trees can live and fruit for a hundred plus years - amazing trees!
Wishing you a happy week see you next Monday dear friend, if not before!
Hugs
Shane
Przepiękne widoki, soczysta zieleń, aż tęsknie za wiosną, a u nas jeszcze zima:)
ReplyDeleteIt's a special gift to see a familiar view through an ever-new lens.Your blog is always such a delight to visit!
ReplyDeleteOh Poppy, you've got us thinking about Crete!! It has been raining and cloudy in Hawaii, so we will be ready for that springtime sunshine -- a spa treatment for our souls!

ReplyDeleteLove the Olive grove shots. Olives are so yummy, it's fascinating to see how they grow.
By the way I LOVE your blog and am now following it.
Your photos are always so lovely and tranquil, Poppy. Whenever I see grassy hills I think about rolling down them like I did as a child. I love the smell of sweet grass and clover. Very tempting. Thanks for visiting and for sending happy birthday wishes to my hubby!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous views you have! I drive over a bridge in the harbor every single day, several times a day actually, and I am always amazed by the view. I never take it for granted, whether the water is covered in ice and snow or crystal blue and peppered with swans, I look and enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful views you have, Poppy! Thank you for sharing another view of your world with us. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
