Is this not one of the most adorable creatures you've ever seen?
Really, look at that little face, how cute is this cat?!
Meet Prince Richard, the reigning royalty of Poppy View.
PR, these are my sweet friends from afar, say 'hello', will you?
Some of you may have seen PR in previous posts, as he is
somewhat of a poser and loves having his picture taken.
PR even had me commission a cyber artiste by the name of 'Fotor, the Fabulous', to paint his portrait, from a photo I had taken of him in the fall. PR wanted them framed side by side! Supposedly, two of him
are better than one. ..The nerve.
Can you believe that he even went so far as to compare himself to one of the most handsome men in the world? Before scrolling down, any guesses to who the 'lucky', good looking gentleman might be?
Now tell me, honestly, do you see it? PR claims that both he and Brad have the same strawberry blonde locks, cute as a button nose, and sweet twinkle in their eyes, not to mention the scruffiness of that very foxy 5 o'clock shadow, and less appealing (to me), goatee,
all topped off by that smooth, irresistible charisma...Ahem...
'Of course.', I say sarcastically, nodding my head in
pseudo agreement, at this most absurd of notions.
So, does he have a point or is this cat just crazy conceited and incredibly narcissistic? Is he indeed, the Brad Pitt of tomcats,
the king of cool that makes queens drool, and meow and purr,
at the sight of his shiny fur, even from a distance?
I know one thing. For someone who's highly allergic to these feline souls, thus, never having lived with cats or dogs before in my life, this friendly little fella has grown on me, and although he cannot reside in our home for the reason mentioned, he does have a warm and cozy, permanent place in my heart, where he's always welcome.
Well, I'm off to pamper my Prince!
I'm curious, does your pet propose such preposterous ideas, too?
Thanks for visiting!
xo

Well, we all know that Abi is a diva. PR is a beauty! I've always wanted a ginger/marmalade cat.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Well, he is quite handsome. He reminds me of my sweet Rusty why left this world in 2009 at the age of 18.
Ha! I can see the resemblance ;) What a handsome kitty the Prince is! That second photo really shows his ATTITUDE .. and I can see he is not lacking for attention. Such a lucky Prince he is to have you Poppy! xxleslie
ReplyDeleteYou just have to hope that he doesn't bring home Angelina and a slew of little ones.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
DeleteWell, that's all we need: a dozen duplicates of PR! Imagine the commotion and chaos of trying to get THAT portrait painted!;-)
Art and Sand in the comment above said what I was thinking (and said it better). Beautiful (handsome) kitty -- and how lucky you are to live where you can have an outdoor pet -- all the pleasure none of the pain (we have allergies here too plus we travel, so we are pet free)...I like seeing other people's pets though!
ReplyDeleteTo tell you the truth PR is much better looking that Brad. I do not like his scruffy look and long stringy hair. PR is very handsome and regal. I'm sure he know that he is loved - they sure can work their way into your heart. Does he have protection from the wind and rain?
ReplyDeleteI have two very spoiled dogs who I love very much and they give me so much company and protect me. Waldo is a mischief's boy, always so happy and ready to go in a minute notice and play. Lili is a diva, bed head who likes to sleep in and she is so sweet, kind and gentle. Both are rescued dogs are the best.
Have a great Sunday.
Mary
Hi Mary,
DeleteYes, of course, PR has several blankets, a cushioned, folding chair, a few toys and a ball, which are all at his disposal on our front porch, even though he prefers to sit on the lawnmower, most of the time, underneath our sun room window!:-)
Oh Poppy I sure hope Brad does not read this post. I fear he will take his family to Greece and adopt PR and we would not like that. Then PR will get a movie part and he will be beyond narcissistic
ReplyDeleteHe is one handsome cat and much more handsome than Brad.
Thanks for sharing and have a lovely weekend
Helen xx
I think that pretty kitty has it all over Brad Pitt! Prince Richard is much cuter! ;) I have a 16 year old kitty named Scarlett, for Scarlett O'Hara, one of my all time favorite literary characters. She is just as feisty, tenacious and gorgeous...even with one eye (the result of an accident when she was 2). Allergies have become an issue here too lately, so she resides with my sister now, but she only lives a few houses away, so we see her every day!
ReplyDeleteOh he is just a beauty - he always catches my eye every time I see him on your blog. I'm surprised he hasn't insisted on his own post months ago! And I must tell you that you grow the most beautiful geraniums!!
ReplyDeletePrince Richard is VERY handsome. I'd take him over Brad anyday...
ReplyDeleteThe Brad Pitt of felines - yes indeed. I do love Prince Richard's green eyes.
ReplyDeleteYes, I see that there is a resemblance between PR and BP! PR is one handsome fellow, and you can see in these eyes that he's got swagger!
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful cat! I think he's better looking than Brad Pitt. :-) If kitty lives outside...does he have some kind of shelter in case of bad weather? You don't have to worry about any wild animals getting to him? Or, him getting hit by a car? (Don't know if you live near a busy road.) We have all the aforementioned here (bad weather, lots of wild animals, and live right by the street).
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie,
DeleteRegarding the shelter, please see my reply to Mary above. We live at the very top of the village, and the only road that leads to our house is a tiny, paved one, which end here, too, so no danger of speeding cars and as far as wild animals are concerned, PR is perhaps the wildest, when he's awake that is! There are weasels, but he doesn't seem to mind them. Also, most homeowners here have dogs, which for the most part are on a leash, but they don't come into contact with PR, as our house is also the last one on the periphery.
He is a handsome one! And I do see the resemblance!! He is a lucky kitty cat!
ReplyDeletexo Kris
I see a very strong resemblance indeed! I suppose knowing he is a most handsome cat makes him so willing to pose for the camera.
ReplyDeleteWell PR is definitely not camera shy. He is very well looked after based on his suave appearance. You took good photos my friend. I'm still struggling to work around mine, so disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and sweet comments. Yes you were right about my genes and the fast metabolism but I am a part-time yogi too. So I guess it has its benefits.
Hope you have a good week.
Hugs
Prince Richard is most handsome, more handsome than any human being.
ReplyDeleteHe does have a regal look about him, but don't tell him I said that! xx
ReplyDeleteLouisa @ My Family & Abruzzo
Oh he is simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd he knows it. Which adds to his charm. -grin-
Personally, not being a Brad Pitt fan, I prefer your Prince Richard. He has it all, without comparing himself to some movie star.
Reign on, Prince Richard!
Tessa~
Prince Richard, you are a regular heartbreaker! You definitely have a regal air about you. I am sure you reign supreme in your home. :)
ReplyDeleteI just checked with my cat Kanga and she said "he is HOT!! " :)
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh over the Brad Pitt of tomcats. He is handsome and photogenic! Cute post, Poppy!
ReplyDeletePrince Richard certainly lives up to his name, and has quite a regal air about him!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely puss!
ReplyDeleteDear kitty I am probably one of the few, but your more handsome then Brad Pitt, I for one have never been a Brad Pitt fan actor or his looks.
ReplyDeleteerika
Hi Erika,
DeleteThanks so much for visiting! Tried to reply to your lovely comment but were unable to as you show up as a no reply blogger! If you happen to see this, please send me your email or let me know if you have a blog or webpage; I'd love to visit!
I adore cats and these photos are just great!
ReplyDeleteOh Poppy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight you are!! You know I am smiling from ear to ear-I really don't see the similarities, oh perhaps they do use the same hair stylist as their coloring seems to be a tad be alike. But I by far, feel as though Prince Richard is so much more handsome and well, put together lets say!
Have a great Monday!
xx-
Jemma
Well, I'll tell you something Poppy, I'm the humble subject and servant to two princes and one princess in Canada and England. Can't get away form them...lol. But they are the cutest. I'm not sure but I think PR might have a rival in Milo and Theo. Hope your lovely, warm week is shaping up nicely. Big hugs from cold (but sunny) Vancouver. :)
ReplyDeleteYour Prince Richard is charming, dear Poppy!!!! Take him along and come to meet my little Zouzou!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your lovely posts for a long time now! Why don't we follow each other?! I would be delighted to!
I wish you a lovely month of February in your beautiful area!!!
I SEE IT! I SEE IT!
ReplyDeleteyes. he's an adorable little prince richard bp.
how terribly sad you cannot have him closer to you. too bad they can't come up with some Rx for people allergic to kitties and such. you are missing one of the greatest treasures given us.
but... not to make you sad. you can still appreciate his amazing beauty from afar and you do!
THANK YOU for this lovely tribute to prince richard! xoxo he has a truly royal home... and he knows it! LOLOL.
He is a cutie. Our Mandy was a great little dog of ours that we had for over 16 years. She liked everyone, except our Son's Girlfriend at the time. She was so jealous of her and barked everytime she came around. He ended up marrying her to Mandys regret.
ReplyDeletePrince Richard does have a point! There is a striking resemblance to Mr. Pitt. My Maine Coon kitty, Miss Kitty, does have airs about her and is the queen of our side yard in the nice weather. The neighborhood cats come and sit at her feet while she is perched on a lawn chair. I thoroughly enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeletePrince Richard is quite the kitty!!
ReplyDeleteso sweet and adorable.
Well now, he is a handsome fellow. I'm glad that you are still able to enjoy him even with your allergy. It's too bad when cat lovers have these allergies.
ReplyDeletePrince Richard DOES look like Mr. Pitt! How amazing! PR looks so comfy in your yard. No wonder he is always there. By the way, when I clicked on your link from Karen's Sunlit Sunday this week, I was taken to your post in August, which I loved ... so beautifully presented. I love your poem and the photos you chose to accompany your verses.
ReplyDeleteI am going to respectfully disagree with Prince Richard, he is, in my not so humble opinion, far more handsome than scruffy Brad Pitt. Now, perhaps a likeness to George Clooney might be so an idea to consider, despite the differences in coloring. Yes indeed. They both have that devil may care aura about them that brings the ladies to their knees.
ReplyDeleteOh he does look like good company for any lady, not unlike Brad!
ReplyDeleteMy SIL attended the same High School as Mr. Pitt.
Ha ha adorable presentation and yes he is the Prince, ahh, but I once had the King cat who once wrote a tale along with his master of looking upon all other cats and creatures as nothing short of dust and dirt...He was truly remarkable and missed now for many years...He was Zita Min Chan and handsome Himalayan. I have allergies of cat and dogs too, but made myself live with them inside and now for some 28 years, no more shots and no more allergies...I did it in doses ;)
ReplyDeleteBTW my King cat was a nice cross between Cary Grant and George Clooney...
DeleteHello! I'm visiting from Cozy Little House's Tweak it Tuesday! Prince Richard compelled me with his eyes from the link list to stop by for a visit. If Brad Pitt was a cat, he would look just like Prince Richard. He reminds me of my kitty, Biscuit, who I lost to cancer almost a year ago. Thanks for the smiles and heart hugs today, PR!
ReplyDeleteI just came to your blog from Cozy Little House's Tweak it Tuesday. I love the pictures of Prince Richard. I am fortunate to live with my girls, Sunny Sunshine and the Lovely Luna.
ReplyDeletePrince Richard looks dashing but then I am a pet lover!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Tell him he looks better than you know who!
I just popped over from Mosaic Monday over at Little Red House and I am really glad I did! Your little Prince is gorgeous, much more so than the Mr. Brad although we can't say he hurts the eyes to look at either! LOL! I couldn't imagine a house without at least one kitty... my husband is allergic so we only have one indoor kitty, Sir Raphael. If you have a chance to pop over to my blog Raphael just did a tour of my art studio the other day so you can get a glimpse of Mr. Sir! :D
ReplyDeleteHugs and thanks for sharing this adorable post...

(P.S. I just moved my blog to wordpress and not sure if it is linking to my comments yet so, you can find me at http://elisabetpollockstudio.wordpress.com)
He's a cutey pie!
ReplyDeleteHahaha awesome post:) Sending sweet kisses to your little prince!

PR is adorable! I enjoyed seeing his pictures.
ReplyDeletePrince Richard is much more handsome than Brad Pitt! One of my cats fancies herself to be a sophisticated foodie. Silly cats!
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness! Yes I do see the resemblance! I think it is a little funny that he has no care regarding your allergy issue.... it doesn't bother him a bit! :) Sweet Kitty! Yes our kitties insist on being the top of the list in our household too. And I'm okay with that. :)
ReplyDelete~Liz
PR is very handsome, and has the same little half mustache as my Shredder. I am laughing at a comment by Art and Sand above! Have a very Blessed week!
ReplyDeletePrince Richard - we are fans - and we think you are a lot more handsome (and probably a lot more loyal) than BP!
ReplyDeleteHope to see more of you at Inspire Me Monday at Create With Joy! :-)
To be honest, in my opinion, Prince Richard is very handsome, but Brad Pitt looks like a... baboon! I do not understand women who think he is beautiful and sexy
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, in my opinion, Prince Richard is very handsome, but Brad Pitt looks like a... baboon! I do not understand women who think he is beautiful and sexy
ReplyDeleteAwww...I just love kitties and he's such a handsome one...he puts Brad Pitt to shame!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing Prince Richard with us at AMAZE ME MONDAY...
Blessings,
Cindy
Prince Richard is absolutely marvelous, Poppy! I am delighted to share that your post will be featured in this week's A Return to Loveliness,
ReplyDeleteKathy
Thanks for a great kitty post. Prince Richard is beautiful. My favorite cat was a ginger cat that his previous owner named Pumpkin. I still miss him after 10 years! BTW, PR is better looking than BP!
ReplyDeleteThese photos of your Prince Richard are just adorable -- hope he doesn't take offense at being referred to as "adorable." It looks like he's pretty darn content with his wonderful life. The "Brad" connection, no, I'm not getting that; but to each Prince his own. We do have a "Princess," whom we've had for about seven years now. We found our little Tonkinese at the Humane Society. I truly feel sorry for all the other people who let her slip through their fingers, because she has been just the sweetest blessing and addition to our lives.
ReplyDeletePR is quite right... I'd even say he is more handsome than Brad Pitt. One of my cats claims his eyes are more beautiful than Ian Somerhalder's.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Hi Poppy,
ReplyDeleteI came over Katy's A Return to Loveliness, where I spotted the cute face of PR. I cant tell you, how much I am amused about your post. That made my day, no my week. I see the resemblace but PR has much more charme. A real Prince! You love cats and lives on an Greek island. Have you ever seen the blog of Joan (http://godslittlepeople.blogspot.de/).
Best greetings, Johanna
Indeed he's as handsome as Brad Pitt, and certainly has that air of knowing how adorable he is. I love cats but I'm allergic too, and recently I've been taking a lot of antihistamines because I seem to be becoming allergic to my dog !
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy, thank you so much for linking up your PR post to my Saturday's Critter party.. I wish you and PR a very happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa ha I popped over from Saturdays Critter ~ oh definitely PR is the cats Mewow and the spitting image of Bradgelina :)
ReplyDeleteYour cat is very handsome.
ReplyDeleteDebra and Kanga sent me over to check out how truly handsome PR is -- oh my! My 2 girls were drooling a bit.....
