'High Tea', Denise Daffara |
Have you ever been curious about what all your bosom blogger buddies are like in person? When reading their posts and comments, can you connect a personality to them? Do you hear their voices, each one different, but part of a unique collection of like-minded friends,
who share the same ideas, life styles and passions with you?
'Afternoon Tea with Lilies', Natalie Singh |
This coming May, Poppy View will celebrate its second year in the blogosphere, and in that time, I've had the pleasure of 'meeting'
many sweet and talented people across the globe, some of
whom reside in the Greater Toronto Area, and who I've
been wanting to meet in person, but had not been able to,
due to the deterrent of distance. UNTIL NOW.

For those of you who live in the GTA,
I'd love to see your real time smile,
free, from its freeze framed profile pic,
a smile now warming, after winter's wacky schtick!
So, how about a cozy, traditional, Afternoon Tea?
Your presence would make me smile most happily!
Please RSVP in the comments,
is closed on Monday, which means I would have to
reserve by this Saturday, April 5th, 2014.
Thanks for visiting
and hope to see you soon!

FABBY
Hi Fabby,
DeleteHad planned to link up to some teatime parties after our first walk into spring and around a thawing pond in my sister's beautiful neighbourhood, near main street Unionville, today!! Thanks for thinking of me!
xo
Poppy

ReplyDeleteIt looks just like my sort of tea shop.
I hope you get to meet many of your blogger friends!
Wow Oh Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very inviting!
When exactly are you thinking?
or is this wishful thinking? I can be gullible:)
My daughter's wedding plans will be in top speed by then so that I see as a small hitch...but I'll stay tuned...
Hi Lucy,
DeleteThe details are on the dress in the last painting: Wednesday, April 9th, at 11 am, at the Old Curiosity Tea Shop on main street Markham, ($20 per person). SO hope you'll be able to join us; would love to meet you my friend!

ReplyDeleteYes, Jen and I are coming Poppy and look forward to meeting with you. This was a great idea and I always like to try a new tea room.
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I could attend, but coming from CA is a little far for me. I would love to meet you in person. I do feel a closeness with you and you are a delightful person. Would love to hear all about your special tea. have fun. How long will you be in Canada?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your stay.
Mary
Hi Mary,
DeleteI would love to meet you, too! We certainly have some things in common, like the temperate climate of both California and Crete and a love of flowers, the difference being that you have a GREEN thumb and I am ALL thumbs, when tending to such pretties such as yours!
I return to Crete on May 23rd, a few days after Liberty's 25th birthday, which I am really excited about sharing - in person and not on the phone!
Thanks for visiting and hope you are enjoying your lovely flowers, as well as a sunny, as opposed to our snowy, spring!
Poppy
Oh, you'll have such fun! I see several of my favorite bloggers planning to come and oh, how I would love to meet YOU! Have a fabulous week my friend! Sweet hugs, Diane (I'd be the only one there with a serious Southern drawl though! heehee)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having so much fun! I'm glad.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
What a wonderful get together you will all have!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea and such a lovely invitation. You can be certain that if I lived anywhere near there, I would be happy to attend! I am sure it will be a splendid time!
ReplyDeletePoppy, what a wonderful idea and how lovely that you will actually get to meet some blogging friends over tea! Wish I could join you all but I just don't live close enough. Thank you for sharing your lovely photos and good news with us at Tea Time.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi

and that tea shoppe is so lovely.

What a great idea. Perhaps some of us in the states could gather together and form their own meet and greets at their local tea shops. I'm in Michigan and while I have been across the border, the furthest up I have been is Niagara Falls. We do have plans to visit Toronto in the future. I'm a new reader popping by from a link party! Now, a new follower. Chrystal @ YUM eating
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could go and meet all of you in Toronto. It's quite a distance from where I live so I'd have to fly in. I can only dream.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a super idea. I wish I lived near all my blogging friends.
ReplyDeleteThe party is a lovely idea. I would enjoy meeting blogging friends if I lived near any but at least I have met many wonderful folks in cyberspace even though not in person thanks to this world of blogs.
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy, I love your idea of meeting up with local blog friends. I have been blessed by meeting up with a number of bloggers. What a joy! I hope you have many blog friends come : )
ReplyDeleteI love (really) every tea painting you have shared!
Hugs,
Terri
Oh dear Poppy, what an exciting idea. Yes would be nice to meet all of you my beautiful talented blog friends. When I was in Amstetdam I was suppose to meet one of my favourite blog friends but time as always wasn't perfect. I hope a lot of ladies will be able to make it to this tea party. Shame for me I Iive in such far away land. I would love to see some photos please. Hope you have a good time.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your visit and your lovely message. You are such an inspiration!
Hugs from me
Oh, how I would love to meet you in Toronto! But seeing I'm a 9-10 hour drive away and don't have a passport, that's not going to happen. BTW, did you know I was born in Etobicoke? :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I do hope your tea party is a great success, I'm sorry I won't be there !
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly, jealousy isn't an emotion I admire, but I do admit...I'M JEALOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteI anxiously await the details of this meeting Poppy. Take lots and lots of pictures :).
xxx
I can come, Poppy, if you find you are getting enough responses to follow through on this. It's a lovely idea!
ReplyDeleteKaren
I've missed a few of your posts since I began following you...not sure if it's because I've been busy...but I've caught up! Yay. I wish I lived in your area. An afternoon tea sounds like the perfect way to meet your blogging friends. I hope you have a great turn out. And take lots of photos for your blog!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Sorry I've missed so many of your recent posts as I've been working full time!
ReplyDeleteIt would be the icing on the cake to meet up with you at The Old Curiosity Shop for tea next week!

Poppy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I would love to come and meet you in person. But you know... the distance thing. I can't wait to hear all about it.
Hugs,
Wanda Ann @ Memories by the Mile
Afternoon tea…..what a delightful idea. If I were in the area, I would make it a priority to join you, Poppy. Your invitation images are fabulous. Are these pieces in your home?
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing about the afternoon.
Hi Sarah,
DeleteYes, it would have been so lovely to meet you, too! The more, the merrier! If you're referring to the paintings, no, they are not in my home. I searched for 'afternoon tea' paintings, and found them on Google. Glad you like them!
Will definitely post pictures of our 'Meet & Greet'!
Have a lovely weekend!
Poppy
That's such a great idea! I know you'll have a great time. I hope to see pictures of your fun day.
ReplyDeleteHave a blast !
ReplyDeleteHPS =) and HapPy Tea Time !!
Very true.
ReplyDeleteWhen you read the blog posts, you create an image of the person in your mind. When you meet personally you realise that they are almost in line with what you thought about them.
All the best in your meet :-)
Yes! We are all connected Poppy:) and I find it amazing that we all seem to find each other! I have enjoyed getting to know you and would absolutely love having tea with you. We would laugh and catch up.. there would be lots to talk about. I do appreciate your friendship.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday! xxleslie
Poppy, what a lovely idea! I think a lot of people agree with me, from seeing all of the comments. Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Treasure Box Tuesday- it got lots of views there, too! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh Poppy, I feel all left out along with many others, what an absolutely lovely thing to plan and it shall be such great fun for those who can attend. You know...I can put voices to faces many times getting it right where those people were, at least in depth of voice and any accent, pretty close to what I think they sound like. You may want to see what I posted for today, I shared wedding images of our youngest daughter for my blog entry this week, what a wonderful time was has by all ;) Happy week Poppy~
ReplyDeleteWish I lived closer. I'd love to join you.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you at Seasonal Sundays.
- Alma, The Tablescaper
what a lovely idea! I used to shy away from meeting my blogger friends, but I'm opening up to the idea more and have met 3 lovely blogger friends so far.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I'm living too far away - I would have loved to join. Big sigh.
ReplyDeletePoppy, it's Wed April 9 at 11:26 am; so, naturally, I AM having tea with YOU right now (though only in thought because I live in Virginia). Oh how I wish I could meet you in person. The very first time I visited your blog, I was completely taken! I love what you see (your photos are so happy and colorful) and I love what you say (you say it so effortlessly). My friend, I would love to meet you in person one day. Have a great tea with your lucky blog friends.
ReplyDeleteIt's today! I hope you're having fun and meeting great people... for real!
ReplyDeletePoppy,
ReplyDeleteI forgot. I wanted to tell you: a long time ago, I suscribed by email to your blog, but I never receive your posts in my inbox. If possible, when you're back home and have some time, could you erase me from the list, so I can try to resuscribe. Right now, if I try, it tells me I already suscribed!
Magali
I wish I could fly over and join you-what fun! I was locked out of GFC too! That was strange wasn't it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining in with the Say G'Day Saturday linky party! I
Hope to see you again this Saturday!
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz

The friends we meet through blogging are very special and unique :)

Sounds like a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea. It would be so wonderful to meet all the lovely friends made on blogland. Wish I could participate.
