Hi everyone,
It's true: I'm half a century old!
I turned 50 on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014,
and interestingly, I share a birthday with The Royal Ontario Museum, which celebrated its 100th anniversary that day.
Hmm...Feeling a little like an artifact, myself!
I am very lucky to have spent the day with Liberty,
my parents, my siblings and their families.
Some of you may remember how homesick
I was during the Christmas holidays.
Needless to say, being home for this milestone occasion
made it extra special and I feel very blessed.
Thanks for visiting!
xo
Poppy
P.S.: Will visit you all very soon, promise!
P.P.S.: A very big welcome
P.P.S.: A very big welcome
to my new followers, and a favour:
After several stressful attempts,
it seems that Google is not letting me
access GFC to follow you back.
I wonder: could it be because I am
not connected to my laptop?
not connected to my laptop?
Is anyone else experiencing this Google glitch?
In any case, I promise to do so when I return to Crete,
In any case, I promise to do so when I return to Crete,
-unless anyone has a solution to this sneaky snag!
Until then, thanks for understanding!

Happy Birthday Poppy!! I have always felt that we were kindred spirits and now I know why...I am a March baby, too! ;) I am glad that you were able to celebrate your very special day with family. I'm a firm believer that it's not what you do to celebrate the great moments of your life, but who you celebrate them with that makes them special! I wish you a fabulous day, a wonderful year and your best decade yet! xo
ReplyDeleteOn a less festive note, my GFC is misbehaving, as well. I cannot add anyone either and I am on a laptop.
Happy belated birthday sweet lady! Hope it was all you dreamed it to be!
ReplyDeleteMay you have good health, joy, love, peace and laughter through the whole year.
Blessings to you! Hugs!!
I am so happy you spent your birthday with your family! And I am sure they are so happy to have you home for the celebration. Your birthday flowers are beautiful. Happy Birthday, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday Poppy. I was wondering where you were. I know what a special treat it was for you to be home with your family on your Bday. I wish for you happiness, health and love and may all your wishes come true.
ReplyDeleteI have had a problem with Google also - for about 2 weeks and it's driving me crazy.
Have a wonderful visit in Toronto.
Hugs,
Mary
Happy birthday Poppy!!!! Have a wonderful time!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy happy birthday! I am glad you are enjoying yourself!
ReplyDeleteI read in the comment section of Apple and Appricot blog that I follow this comment.
Maybe it is the solution you are looking for.

Happy Birthday Dear Poppy! I am so glad you were able to share your birthday with your family.. Good times, I am sure! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dear Poppy....so happy for you that you were able to spend it with your family its these moments that are truly cherished...wishing many joyous years and moments always surrounded with your loved ones always and forever!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow I have no idea what is a GFC but I do know that blogger took the options to follow out - I took it out off MMNT when i was asked if I wanted to use follow with Google plus ( i really need to read everything first) but I was able to finally find it and put it back .
Sorry I couldn't be more help.... still learning!
:)

Dearest Poppy ,Happy Birthday to you ! It is nice that you are closed to your family and you celebrate with them ! Don't you worry about the number but how your heart feels !! I think that you are a very young woman who loves so much the life and the people !
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and so glad that you are having a wonderful time with your family! :)
ReplyDeleteDear friend - Happy belated birthday!!!! We have been out of the country so I'm just a little late to congratulate you on this important milestone. Enjoy your family and time in Canada, Poppy! Warmly, Loi
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to you Poppy...50 years young for you, you are stunning and so youthful. I am so happy that you were able to travel home to be with your daughter and family for this wonderful celebration. You must feel like you have gone to the moon and back happy! Many happy days of this coming year and looking forward to many more beautiful shares~
ReplyDeleteDear Poppy....So glad you could be home to celebrate this important milestone.
ReplyDeleteWe visited my daughter there on Sat...and celebrated her b-day.
love and warm hugs...
Poppy, there you are! I was wondering why you hadn't posted. I am glad to hear that you were busy celebrating and spending time with family. Happy birthday, sweet lady. Have fun with your family.
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy, Happy Birthday Wishes, belatedly.
ReplyDeletePlease don't feel even a little like an artifact! 50 is sooooooooooooo young. Really. Not just saying nice things. It is.
Especially to 'Yours Truly', who turns 77 tomorrow. :-)))))))))))))))
But really, even without my "Olden number," for comparison, 50 is a very young and vital number.
Gentle hugs,
Tessa~
Happy, Happy Birthday, Poppy! I'm so glad to read that you were able to celebrate with your loved ones in Toronto! If you are an artifact, then I'm...well, then, I'm just an older artifact. I wish you many more happy birthdays, and may they always be celebrated with people you love! Enjoy the rest of your stay! Hugs...Amy
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday, Dear Poppy!
Happy Birthday to you!
I am so happy you got to be in Canada for this special birthday. Glad to hear it was wonderful because you deserve it.

So wonderful to hear you had a lovely birthday surrounded by family and friends. That in itself is the most special of gifts. I turned 60 last July so know the difficulties that come with wrapping your brain around these new decades (although I certainly prefer them to the alternative). We leave for Istanbul this afternoon and will be back in Greece (if all goes as planned) on Thursday! Yippee!!! My GFC worked the last time I used it (but sadly I have had so few new faces that it is used by me infrequently -- I've not tried it in months :-( ) Happy Happy Birthday and Happy Happy New Decade!
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday! I, too have a birthday in March although it is the end of March. I look back to see all those people whom I have outlived and am amazed that their lives were so short.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday dear Poppy!
ReplyDeleteFifty is nothing- you seem like a spring chicken to me. Enjoy your time with your family.
Happy Birthday, Poppy! I am so glad that you were able to make a trip and spend your special day with your family. I never thought I would consider "50" to be young, but those extra 15 years I have on you, make you seem like a baby!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you! I'm so glad you had a nice day. I can't use GFC anymore and I've just about given up on it. I can't log into it, and can't follow anyone and my blog list doesn't load in my Blogger dashboard anymore. I'm also on a laptop, so I think it's a Google problem. I'm usin Bloglovin to read old followed blogs and follow new ones and I really like it.
ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday, dear Poppy! I'm so happy you were able to celebrate it with your family in Canada and pray your time there will be filled with many blessings for you and them.
ReplyDeleteIf you only knew how young 50 sounds to me!
Love,
Dewena
P.S. Is that lovely room in your home in Crete or a family member's in Canada?
Happy birthday to you! Sounds like a perfect celebration for you. 1964 was a good year - I know! SMILE.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Poppy. Looks like you had a beautiful day. They say you just get better with age. :-) Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Wanda Ann @ Memories by the Mile
Glad you had a wonderful birthday! May you have at least 50 more!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Poppy! I guess I turned into an artifact 2 years ago ;) I hope you're enjoying your visit back home and that you're making up for your lonely Christmas. I love the print in the first photo ... Group of Seven? Your flowers are beautiful! Enjoy your day ... Wendy x
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely birthday. Turning 50 is a very special occasion, so Happy Birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteIn regards to GFC, I've visited the forums and many other bloggers are having the same issues with the broken GFC gadget. I'm not sure that this is a high priority for them, perhaps they are phasing this out. I'll be sorry to see it go if that is what's happening. I wish they would be straight with us and let us know for certain!
Your pictures are lovely as always, enjoy your week!
I'm so glad you spent your 50th at home with all your loved ones. Belated birthday wishes Poppy.
ReplyDeleteI've had problems following people too. I had to look at blogs through google chrome and then update my photo and things seemed better, but it's still not as easy as it used to be.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am glad you had a great day! It's a very good age, believe me, not old, and not young ,just smart enough to enjoy the difference! besos. Lilián.-
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Poppy! Mine was on the 14th and compared to me, you are just a young chick yet! :) You are at a good age and enjoying life in your beautiful home and I wish you many, many more wonderful years!
ReplyDeleteAww...there is NO WAY you are 50...really?? Happy Birthday! And how wonderful to spend it at home with your family! So glad to see you back on my blog list too! Many blessings to you on your special day...enjoy your trip and safe travels!
ReplyDeleteI knew you were going back home to Toronto, which was exciting enough in itself, but I didn't know you were going to be having a milestone birthday while there! Sooo...happy birthday! What a perfect way to spend such a "big" birthday - by being surrounded by your daughter, parents, and your siblings (and their families). I hope the rest of your stay is filled with lots of love, laughter, and blessings.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Dear Poppy! All the best and most of all: good health, lots of joys and happines to share with family and good friends, now and always! Have a wonderful Spring, as well!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, dear Poppy!!!
ReplyDeletePleased to read you had such a wonderful family gathering on this occasion!
I wish you every possible happiness for the next 50 years to come!
Enjoy the rest of your stay in Toronto!
Happiest birthday wishes to you dear Poppy! I remember that year and decade. :) Lovely cupcakes and flowers. I'm so happy you got to spend your special day with your family. Enjoy the rest of your visit! PS How's the weather?? :)
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday wishes to you, dear Poppy! How wonderful that you could come home to celebrate your special day with so many people who love you. Stay warm - it's colder in Toronto than Crete, I imagine.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're getting to celebrate this special birthday with your family, Poppy.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time there!
Happy 50th birthday. I am glad you were able to spend this special day with your family. Such a momentous occasion. So much of life gone behind, so many memories, but so mush still to look forward to. Beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and thank you for stopping by my blog.
Happy Birthday dear Poppy, may all your wishes come true :)
ReplyDeletePiękne bukiety i czerwona kolanchoe na stole, ja mam taką różową:)pozdrawiam B.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dearest Poppy!!
ReplyDeleteWell, the best is yet to come, truly it is! You are beautiful, bright , lovely and very loved as well!

Happy belated wishes Poppy! You must spend a very special time in Canada, I'm really glad for you! Come back safe!
ReplyDeleteLove, Olympia
oh my gosh!!!
ReplyDeletehow did i come so late to the party???
happy belated birthday darling girl.
what a beautiful simple home.
i'm so glad you're having a grand time with your family there!
XOXO ♥
I can only imagine how you must have loved to celebrate your birthday with your family, whom you have missed so much. What could be better than heralding in a new decade with those we love?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were going to Toronto, nor did I know you were a March baby, but I should have guessed it. Pieces (although you're on the cusp) are creative dreamers with more than their fair share of feminine characteristics.
You've been missed, but I'm so happy to learn you've been celebrating with your family. And as far as that 'Turning fifty thing'...can you wait while I get my violin out? (Said this 60 year old who's filled with jealousy). You're just a baaaaaaaby!!
Stunning!! I love this post sweetie! Happy BDay!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Poppy. How fun that you traveled home. I have adapted the French attitude. They call us "a woman of a certain age" and I am going with that.
ReplyDeleteHappy 50th! Please join us to party tomorrow at the Anything Goes linky. You are by no means an artifact, 50 is the new 30 :), isn't that what they say.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Poppy!! So glad you got to spend it with family! I have had some problems trying to follow people too. Frustrating.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday Poppy! So nice to be with family for a milestone celebration. I'm looking forward to tea together.

Happy Belated Birthday!! How wonderful to be able to spend this milestone birthday with your family. Just an FYI - you look marvelous dear lady, simply marvelous. For me fifty is now a distant memory. But I do seem to remember that the best years of my life were still to come and even now I feel that the "best has yet to be".
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Poppy! Enjoy your time with your family! Blessings, Bess

I had better start catching up with my blog reading. Happy Belated Birthday 50th to you, Poppy! I hope the new decade is filled with people and things you love and that you're enjoying your time back in Canada. With a bit of luck, you`ll get a touch of spring while you're here; it has been rather slow in arriving!

Happy belated birthday. I'll be joining you in the next decade in just two short years. :) Hard to believe sometimes. I certainly don't feel like I am nearing 50. I hope you had a nice gathering of Toronto bloggers. The GFC must have had a glitch for a while because I had the same problem for weeks but it's back in working order again. Sometimes these things happen. Best wishes for a very Happy Easter, Tammy
