Cuties, Pretties, Poppies, and Lovelies

On my way to visit my sweet friend, here in the
village, I couldn't resist snapping these hot
hued cuties, on this perfectly warm spring day.

Pathways covered in purple pretties and buttery
toned beauties led to views of the valley below.

Poppies, gently swayed in the cool breeze,
gracefully bowing their heads, to acknowledge
the wind's presence, if only for a few seconds.

Whenever I pass this house, with its simple, square shape, blue and white   contrasts, and original terracotta tiled roof, I pause to appreciate its signature provincial style, shaded in dabs of green.

Look at that chalky blue sky! I wondered if the sea, just
below, had mirrored its multi toned, amethyst allure.

Behind the curtained window, freshly brewed coffee, home baked cookies, and cozy conversation awaited me. It was the perfect pick-me-up, after spending siesta photographing local lovelies, in the balmy afternoon heat.

Wishing you all a wonderfully
warm and sunny, spring weekend!

xoxo
Poppy

  8. Does anyone plant these beauties or do they just spring up, seeds scattered by the birds? I love their natural beauty, completely un-manicured, not trying too hard. And all on a walk to a friend's house.

A good weekend to you, dear Poppy!

  27. Awe, we both shared Spring and oh your Spring there is so magnificent, and I enjoy your bright colours shared. They refresh this soul rather perfectly this day, filled to overflowing with rains. To be able to visit you my friend and others, sharing of the bounty of their Spring, it is all just blissful. The charm of that square house is wonderful and I can only begin to imagine, like your own beautiful abode, the chatter that goes on beyond the walls. Have a happy remainder to your weekend Poppy. Is there an actual siesta time in Greece like they supposedly have in Mexico? Haha, hubby and I have taken to cat napping in the late afternoon after a day working outside.
