Tiny, Sunny Superstars

My husband gathered these pretty anemones,
in the mountains of southern Crete, while
looking for wild greens a few days ago.
Look at that beautiful, (unedited!) colour.

I placed them on the counter in the upstairs
bathroom, to complement the collection of
pink and purple fragrances and bath salts.

They are tiny, sunny superstars, aren't they?
The heady, slightly fruity scent of the white narcissus,
(Anemone narcissiflora), permeates the entire
floor, making it a natural air freshener.

I made a pencil sketch of the bouquet in LunaPic,
then added some cute, yellow hearts, and thought
this playful portrait of pretties would make a
charming and cheery greeting card for you,
my sweet friends!

Happy Valentine's Day!

  12. Poppy, this is the prettiest bouquet that I've seen in a long time. What luck to find wild anemones blooming. Are the little white daffodils from your garden? The pencil sketch definitely makes a nice greeting card. Take care ~ Stacy

    1. Hi Stacy,

Thank you! No, those 'little, white daffodils' are not from my garden; they are actually narcissus, and are part of the anemone family, (Anemone narcissiflora), as I mentioned, but they DO look a lot like mini daffodils, I must say!

      Have a lovely weekend!

  61. I arrived late, yet in time to say I hope that you had a lovely Valentines Day Poppy. It has been crazy weather here, had to change journey plans to next week and even lost all power for a while. State is termed in a "state of emergency", but we are OK, just stuck for a bit. Your hubby was so sweet to select such delicate beauties to pluck for his love. I use Lavender perfumes, and notice the lavender colour in some of what you shared. Sweet, beautiful, lovely post. Hugs to you~
