Signs of summer, splattered in splashes of colour,
will soon force spring into a deep, dreamy slumber.
Softening chiseled doorsteps and upstaging stone facades,
brilliant beams of Grecian blue,
pierce skies like lightning rods.
pierce skies like lightning rods.
Tissue paper petals in hues of 'hot and bothered' pink,
flutter in the balmy breeze, amazingly in sync.
flutter in the balmy breeze, amazingly in sync.
All signs. Leading to a season,
painted in radiant, rainbow ink.
Thanks for visiting, and a very warm
welcome to my new followers!
xx

ReplyDeleteThere are beautiful colors in your part of the world. The brilliant Grecian blue matches the color of your seas, I think. The bright flowers can stand the heat and add so much life to the scene. I love visiting Greece via your blog.
ReplyDeleteA treat for my eyes and senses looking at your photos Poppy! The upcoming season arrives with lot of promises, wish they can be fully realized!
ReplyDeleteI love the bouganvilla against the walls. It's so hot here, that my garden beds are draped with shade cloths.
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the light in Greece that seems to enhance the flowers.
I was recently in Ibiza and we marveled at the profusion of colour and how more intense the bougainvillia seemed.

Hi Poppy, I had "popped" in here yesterday and started following but didn't have time to leave a comment. Your blog is lovely! I lived in Canada for 6 years, after we left England, just outside of Toronto in a town called Oakville. I've never been to Greece but it's on my bucket list:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog and for your lovely comment! Have a great day:)
So pretty! You make your everyday seem like vacation! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely weekend. :)

Good Morning Poppy,
ReplyDeleteMy oh my such lovely photos of such a glorious and gorgeous view which is yours daily. It seems as though the sun shines a little brighter and the landscape is more vibrant that here in my warm State.
Is it true or is it because of the sweet, caring and happy sunshine which you spread wherever you go...
Have a marvelous weekend!

Love the 'hot and bothered' pinks in your photos. They are such pretty flowers. And the geraniums on Crete are magnificent. My geraniums on the back deck or front patio would never create the same ambiance as those on your patio or out and about on your outings. A happy summer to you, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice of photos! Yay for summer!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Wish you a pleasant summer ahead!

As always, your photos are just stunning -- well, seriously, how could they not be with such beautiful surroundings! I think I spotted bougainvillea, right? That's very popular here in AZ -- doesn't seem to mind the heat!
