A cozy cafe and tavern, three villages over. |
This cozy space, with its cappuccino coloured walls, was the
ideal spot for a coffee date with Kiki, this past Saturday.
Sleepwalking down a flight of stairs for that first smooth
sip, (my regular route to consciousness), is surely a
sign of myaddiction admiration for the stuff,
so driving ten minutes away to this quaint cafe, was actually
quite refreshing, (not to mention less life threatening!).
Stucco facades, sprinkled with cinnamon toned stone,
and warm accents of wood and terracotta,
tastefully echo those found in favourite frothy elixirs,
infused with hints of hazelnut, vanilla, and almond.
An aromatic blend in hand,
eyes pouring over mountain views,
I was thankful for this charming venue,
and its rich, full-bodied brews.
Thanks for visiting and
have a wonderful week!

Quaint and charming ! I love that stucco and beautiful wood on the windows, doors, etc.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Poppy! I couldn't think of a more beautiful spot to sip a morning coffee. Such rich stonework, and all the various pots and barrels add to the charm. "Ten minutes" to get to three towns over?! I wish!! I've read back a few posts (to P.R. as Sherlock!) and see that you're enjoying the fall even there in your lovely island home. I've been absent for a while, but recently posted of some fall Ontario colour if you need a little reminder ;) Take care, Wendy x
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy! Oh, what a charming place. I've enjoyed the tour of the lovely cafe. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I so enjoy your colorful and explicit descriptions, my dear Poppy! Have a wonderful week.

ReplyDeleteI would've loved to share a cup of tea with you there!
This was a delicious coffee-flavoured post with all the lovely warm colours. Delightful! (even though I never touch coffee - does something to my head and heart). But I love the smell.
ReplyDeleteif the old walls could talk...
ReplyDeletei dearly love places like this.
and only 10 minutes from you! oh my.
and your poetry is not lost on me. you must think in rhyme!!! xoxo♥
Looks so warm and charming! I'd love to visit there.
ReplyDeleteThis takes my breath away, Poppy. The stone and stucco, contrasting with the terra cotta and the dark wood. . .so beautiful. Nothing in contemporary architecture could compete. I would spend as much time in this wonderful cafe as I possibly could. Thank you for sharing this. I'm kind of jealous. xxx Nancy
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy, what a cute cafe to meet up with your friend Kiki.. The colors and decor are lovely.. I wish I could smell the coffee. YUM! Wonderful photos and post, enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteBoy, it looks great--soooo inviting. I can drink coffee anywhere however! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat cafe would go so well with my morning latte. What a charming spot. Rather more so than the drive up window of my local version of Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteOh so quaint and charming. I don't know if I could leave that cozy cafe. Those windows just draw you in! I wish I could meet you for coffee, but kind of far to go!
ReplyDeleteI'd rush to meet you there for coffee any time, any day Poppy - my kind of place for sure!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Mary
As soon as I saw that stone wall in the first picture, I knew there was a word that would describes perfectly it's color, but couldn't quite think of it. But you did! Yes, cappuccino is exactly the word I was looking for.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming place for morning coffee with a friend. As for me, I doubt I could make it for the ten minute drive before my first cup. At least not without biting someone's head off, but perhaps a second? 😉
Oh this is such a quaint and charming spot and the natural colours used, always makes me happy. I would like a Mocha Cafe' please with a nice topping of whipped cream, if you do not mind ;) Right now, our local coffee shops are introducing everything pumpkin, since here it is the season for them. Have a wonderful remainder to your week dear one~
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place, Poppy! It reminds me so much of the little cafes in the small towns on the South of Spain. You are making me homesick! :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI could smell coffee through these pictures :)
ReplyDeleteRushing to get my cuppa now.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos and sounds like a place I'd live to visit. You are so clever where you add your Poppy view on your photos.
ReplyDeleteMy brother & sis in law spent a few weeks in Cret on summer vacation and they loved it - I can see why - so welcoming and beautiful landscapes!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering...would be perfect accompaniment with the apple crisp I just made....
ReplyDelete(those white shutters...sigh)
Wow! Everything in Crete is just so beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us...I'm having coffee with you at this place in my dreams!
ReplyDeletePoppy, in ten minutes there were 3 villages? That alone is charming, makes me want to visit all of them. Now tell the truth, Poppy, did you style this little cafe? It is so Poppy-like that you must have!
ReplyDeleteI bet I'd learn to like coffee if I had it there with that "cinnamon toned stone" as a backdrop and the mountains to gaze on.
What a beautiful cafe it is. Everything looked so rustic at the same time cosy. I would mind driving there for a cuppa. Unfortunately I am not a coffee drinker, so would be able to tell the difference. But sitting there to admire the view and the surroundings would be enough to make my day.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend dear friend.
What a beautiful place to have coffee with a friend! I have always wanted to visit Greece! It will definitely happen one of these days.
ReplyDeleteQue lugar lindo!!
ReplyDeleteImagino os aromas deliciosos!
