Norrtälje, Sweden, was recently introduced to me
by my sweet friend, Kiki, who hails from the
beautiful Scandinavian country, herself.

This cobblestoned square, complete with
cute, barn red shops and quaint cafes, could
easily be straight out of a storybook.

Cottages covered in mustard yellow and ketchup red, are
the perfect condiments to this scene of pickle green.
Streams flow through neighbourhood nooks; the sound of
running water, both soothing and rejuvenating to the senses.
Clearly,
pretty and picturesque places abound
in this charming, coastal, Swedish town.
Hoping to see it in person, one day!

Thanks for visiting!

i always have liked the description of stockholm as "the venice of the north."
thank you so much dear poppy and kikki!
What a charming place that must be! I loved my short peek at it here. I got a brochure in the mail for Scandinavian River Cruises and dreamed my way through it, picking out my stateroom, naturally the best one since this was an imaginary trip. Sigh…….

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful corner of the world !!! Thanks so much for sharing

Isn't it beautiful that they paint their wooden houses in such joyful colors? Ever since I read Pipi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren (who was Swedish) as a child I wanted to live in a red house with white window frames. I'm living in a white house with black frames, but I'm determined to change the black to red one day, so I at least will have a little part of it.
ReplyDeleteIt's just gorgeous! Very pretty and picturesque. Thank you for sharing on Treasure Box Tuesday.
