Among all the veggies on our land,
the rising vines of a
fruit are most grand.
The zucchini leaves may leave a trail,
and the green onions may be hailed
'the most thriving';
unlike the corn, whose stalks
have yet to be adorned
with kernels of sweetness.
So, on a scale from 1 to 10,
the star of the show,
time and time again,
is the red, juicy fruit
that shines with pride,
beside its veggie cousins
with whom it resides!
Thanks for stopping by!
Promise to visit soon;
have been extra busy!
Have a wonderful week!

I have to agree with you, the tomatoes are always the star of our garden and our dinner table... So versatile, there is nothing like a fresh, red, juicy tomato.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful to look at and no doubt delicious to eat!! xx
ReplyDeleteIf this is not the Paradise then who is? I am deeply in love with your outdoor area!!! Wish you all the best and a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteYour tomatoes are just beautiful, all the sizes and colors. It looks like your garden is doing very well.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will making a delicious salad with them. Amazing photos!!
Hugs,
Jody
What gorgeous produce...and I love how it grows all among your flowers too! Nothing is more beautiful than a basket of ripe, yummy goodness such as this What a green thumb you must have my dear Poppy! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteLuscious looking vegetables!

Oh for a juicy red tomato like you've shown! Perhaps this year, with the hot summer we will see some, but normally our tomatoes have to ripen on the window sill.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind comment on my last post.
Oh Poppy, you show us with each post the beauty of everyday things. Your garden is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteOh, what lovely veggies - makes me want to cook something.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty and varied garden you have. I have potted tomato plants and are just not doing too good. :( So I am glad when others have success in their garden.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your garden is flourishing. Hope your corn provides a good yield for you.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose only one thing to plant, it would be tomatoes! I look forward to them every year.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the busyness of summer. I am behind on blog reading myself. Take care and have a nice day!
Your harvest is looking spectacular, Poppy! I have only yellow beans (at least, I hope I will), some herbs and tomatoes. There is nothing like the satisfaction of picking and consuming that tasty, red freshness! With the thunder booming and rain falling yet again, they are being well watered this summer.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week, Poppy.
Karen
I can hardly wait for our tomatoes to ripen - they are the star of the summer dinner table!
ReplyDeletethese pictures just SING !!!
ReplyDeleteand...
yum!
XO
Poppy, those vegetables look lovely; so vibrant looking. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I have given passing thought to a photo shoot out-of-doors, but my yard is fairly shady. Now, if I had your beautiful yard and patio ... :O) Have a blessed week dear lady! Bess
ReplyDeletePS: Aren't we due for a link to one of your lovely songs?
You live in such a beautiful country that even your fruit and veggies look better than ours in the sun! Those tomatoes are beauties. We're only growing some tiny tomatoes this year (grape tomatoes) and we do have some zucchini and broccoli too, though the broccoli isn't doing too well.
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed, I've never grown my own veggies, and I imagine all your produce has wonderful flavour. And is that Plumbago I see ? I think it's too cold here to grow it outside as I have only seen it in someone's greenhouse, it's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe tomatoes are my favorite from our garden!! Your veggies, fruits and images all look wonderful. Enjoy your new week, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing to compare with local fresh summer tomatoes! :)
ReplyDeleteOk, you know what I just did not 30 minutes ago?? I had a plate of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil all set out for an appetizer. Fisherman was down at the lake fishing (what else?) and I couldn't resist. I ate the WHOLE THING MYSELF! I have no shame nor remorse.
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes this time of year!
xxx
Oh dear, I will admit to some envy! Despite above average temps here, we have still to experience a red tomato! The nights are cooler of course, below 60 F and it does not help.
ReplyDeleteA pleasure to stop by Poppy as always,
I have some serious garden envy! I want to grow more vegetables and fruits in my garden. Enjoy your fruits of labour x
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, Poppy! What a garden. Love all the flowers too. Thanks for sharing at THE SCOOP!
ReplyDeleteI agree, there's nothing like home-grown tomatoes! I am blown away by your beautiful garden, Poppy! It is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteHello Poppy
ReplyDeleteNothing equates to the rich taste of a home grown tomato. Your garden looks rich and fruitful.
Next year I hope to have a harvest
Helen
I love the effect of flowers and veggies sharing space in the garden - and yours are really presenting a wow factor here Poppy! Just beautiful produce for your kitchen and the prettiest flowers to fill vases. You are busy cooking I'm certain - enjoy the fruits of your labors.
ReplyDeleteLove, Mary
Very cute, Poppy! I looooove freshly-grown tomatoes, there's nothing better in summertime. That first photo is so pretty, a bouquet of garden delights.
ReplyDeleteOMG.. so it's not just the beautiful flowers.. you have got a full fledged vegetable garden as well. Those tomatoes look so fresh. I have a tiny green one growing in my patio garden and I look at it longingly everyday. I was so late to sow the seeds.. I am afraid it will be fall and eventually winters before I get to harvest come tomatoes!!
ReplyDeleteYour right loooove freshly grown tomatoes. I have very little sun in my garden, so I grow tomatoes up my trellis, I make room for herbs, lettuce and onions. I am a lover of tomato and don't think I could live without them!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful, and it's hard to beat a bowl full of fresh veggies!
ReplyDeleteΦρέσκα και λαχταριστά τα λαχανικά σου,Πόπη.
ReplyDeleteΔεν είναι υπέροχο να περπατάς σ' έναν ολάνθιστο κήπο,όπως ο δικός σου,και να γεμίζειςτο καλάθι σου με νόστιμα λαχανικά;
Η κηπουρική είναι το πάθος μου και οι φωτογραφίες σου με ενθουσιάζουν.
Καλή συνέχεια στις καλοκαιρινές περιηγήσεις!
Wow! What a nice harvest! Your veggie garden is so lush. Thanks for the positive note on Rea....Christine
ReplyDeleteLooks like your garden is doing great! Tomatoes seem to be everyone's favorite. I love how you displayed them in the bowl!
ReplyDeleteWe ate our first warm vine-ripened tomato just yesterday. So sweet and juicy. Many more of them to come. Deliciousness! I like them sliced on whole wheat toast - for breakfast. Your garden is beautiful and producing so well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post. Your veggies are delightful!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine a world without tomatoes? Horrors! My father's favorite summer treat was a sliced tomato sandwich of mayonnaise on whole wheat bread, only of homegrown tomatoes, of course. And salt and freshly ground black pepper.
ReplyDeleteYour garden tucked into pockets around is my favorite kind of gardening, a true kitchen garden. I bet you just step out your door and snip, snip, you have your dinner planned.
I just had to peek in on a couple of your past shares, after the last one. I always have to tell my grandchildren who are not real fond of veggies and adore fruit, that tomatoes are indeed fruit and then they may just try one. I adore them warm out of the garden with just light salt sprinkled upon them. Zucchini, is another one that if put into a good cake style bread, along with nuts and blueberries, I can get the children to partake of, and then announce, you just had a fruit and a veggie ;) I adore veggies, all veggies except those like turnips and their kind. Your veggies look so fresh and so yummy ;) Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh wow. What I could do with that harvest! Your garden is beautiful. I had a veggie garden once it wasn't near as pretty. But I got such a good harvest I had lots to share! I miss those times.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing yours with me!
Have a wonderful day!
I love how your vegetables mingle with the flowers - beautiful! I will be featuring your post in this week's Home and Garden Thursday,
ReplyDeleteKathy
